Commodity Watch: Copper futures gain on higher participation

New Delhi: Copper futures rose 4.44 per cent to Rs 1,287.30 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for January delivery grew Rs 54.70 or 4.44 per cent to Rs 1,287.30 per kg in a business turnover of 12,668 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose Rs 3.90 to Rs 294.10 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in January increased 1.34 per cent in 4,495 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders supported aluminium prices.
Zinc futures rise on high demand
Zinc prices rose Rs 2.95 to Rs 307.20 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for January delivery traded 0.97 per cent higher in a turnover of 5,247 lots.
